Veterans Evidence is not for everyone. That is intentional.

We are a physician-led firm of medical experts built for Veterans who want serious, legally defensible medical evidence developed with strategy, precision, and accountability. We are not a DBQ mill, a “pay-and-pray” nexus letter factory, or a marketing-driven operation built around volume. We are brought in when Veterans and trusted referral partners want the medical side of the claim handled correctly.

If you think you already know more than we do, or someone has convinced you to be afraid of “poking the bear,” then we are not the right fit for you. 

We do not subscribe to that philosophy. We are not afraid of “the bear.” We are the bear.

We believe Veterans deserve to have medical expertise weaponized on their behalf, not against them. Veterans have earned the assistance of aggressive advocacy grounded in real medicine and the law.

Veterans Evidence operates on a referral and invitation-only basis. We intentionally maintain a selective client roster in order to preserve physician involvement, strategic consistency, quality control, and the integrity of our process. Most referrals originate with prior clients, other physicians, or accredited attorneys, agents, and VSOs that we know and trust. Not everyone is a good fit and we are very comfortable with being selective about the cases that we will accept.

We review records, identify evidentiary weaknesses (especially with C&P exams), analyze rating criteria, develop a comprehensive strategy for the medical evidence, and produce documents that are designed to withstand the closest scrutiny.

Every claim is approached individually. We don’t use nonsensical templates or “AI slop” pretending to be professional by employing irrelevant medical jargon and legalese.

Your claim is not handed off to a random staffer with a doctor’s signature added at the end. Our process is built around physician review, physician analysis, physician judgment, and physician accountability. That matters because the VA is increasingly scrutinizing private medical evidence — and frankly, they should be. A substantial amount of what circulates online is legally indefensible and ultimately harms Veterans more than it helps them.

Strong evidence survives scrutiny. Weak evidence collapses under it. We build for scrutiny and back our evidence aggressively.

We are also fully aware of the internet panic surrounding so-called “VA crackdowns” on private DBQs. Our response is simple: good. Some of the garbage circulating in this industry deserves more scrutiny. There are companies producing sloppy, unsupported, sometimes outright indefensible opinions that actively harm Veterans and damage the credibility of legitimate private medical evidence. If the VA wants to review low-quality DBQs more aggressively, we genuinely believe that is a good thing. Bad actors should be removed from this space. We are confident in our physicians, our process, our methodology, and the documents we produce. 

We welcome scrutiny because we stand behind our work completely. If you are looking for someone to help you scam the system, do not contact us. There are plenty of people willing to sell you a fantasy. We are not them. We never will be.

While we respect the role of accredited agents, attorneys, and VSOs, our process is fundamentally physician-directed and medical strategy driven. For that reason, we generally do not work with representatives who attempt to direct or override our physicians on medical questions. In most situations, we work only with trusted referral partners who understand our methodology, will collaborate with our team, and respect our expertise.

Medical evidence should be directed by medical professionals.

Our role is not to generate paperwork that tells a story someone else wants us to tell. Our role is to develop legally valid, medically supportable evidence capable of withstanding any review from VA raters, opposing C&P examiners, and appellate bodies.

Sometimes the condition that bothers you the most on a day-to-day basis is not the strongest claim to pursue first – or at all. Our responsibility is to identify the most strongly supported path based upon your clinical history, medical records, medical literature, non-medical evidence, VA laws and regulations, and likely rating outcomes — not simply throw every possible diagnosis at the wall and hope something sticks.

Focused, credible claims routinely outperform bloated claims listing irrational issues and lacking scientific discipline.

We understand that people can’t really tell the difference between good claims and bad claims, good evidence and bad evidence, because they are not lawyers or doctors. Even our clients who are lawyers or doctors themselves cannot really tell the difference, and we have seen the fallout firsthand. Some clients have come to us after spending thousands of dollars on low-grade opinions with nonsensical rationales, or DBQs so poorly written they collapse under minimal review. 

Just to clear up another misconception: knowing the rules of the system and using them intelligently is not unethical. Building a strategic evidence plan is not unethical. Understanding rating criteria is not unethical. Developing evidence rationally instead of randomly is not unethical. The VA already knows how the system works. Veterans deserve to know, too.

We are not fans of the current contract C&P examination system.

When legally sufficient private evidence has already been properly developed and submitted, we generally recommend that our clients decline to attend any unnecessary additional C&P examinations that the VA might order. Why? Because we have seen too many Veterans harmed by rushed, inaccurate, boilerplate examinations performed by poorly trained midlevel providers that work for a government contractor that is paid per exam completed — not per accurate outcome achieved. 

Veterans know exactly what this looks like. In the Army, it’s called “pencil whipping.” In the Navy, it’s “gundecking.” We call it malpractice.

The incentive structure matters. If an examiner produces a poor examination that results in a denial, and the Veteran later appeals and receives another exam, the contractor gets paid again while the Veteran waits months or years longer for benefits they should have already been awarded. What concerns us even more is that VA’s “quality control” on the C&P exams only checks whether all the required boxes are checked or filled with text — not whether the report fairly and accurately reflects medical reality, and is also legally sufficient.

Private DBQs are legal. Private medical opinions are legal. By law, the VA must consider competent private medical evidence even if the Veteran does not want to attend C&P exams. This is not a loophole. It is your right under the law to prove your claim with your own evidence. Simple as that.

We are not going to lie for you. We will help you pursue whatever benefits are supported by the evidence and permitted under the law — nothing more and nothing less. Our doctors voluntarily sign perjury statements on every DBQ attesting to the truthfulness and validity of their work. That is not common in this industry and it is not accidental. Integrity is not a marketing slogan for us. It is the foundation of our practice.

If we get even the slightest indication that you want us to exaggerate symptoms, manufacture diagnoses, chase unsupported ratings, embellish medical findings, or abuse the system in any way, we will terminate the relationship immediately. No debate. No negotiation. No second chances. We are above board – period.

Veterans Evidence is not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or legal advocacy. We provide physician-led medical evidence consulting, medical analysis, and medical documentation services. A few of our clients work with attorneys, accredited agents, or VSOs. Most proceed independently. Our job is the medicine.

Our minimum total fee is $8,000 and for larger retroactive awards the total fee increases. However, our fees are always ultimately capped at one-third (⅓) of the total retroactive benefits received over the course of our work together. We use a universal fee for every client and it is not negotiable.

Our fee structure is intentionally designed to align with a winning outcome. Substantial portions of the fees are deferred until favorable awards are received. Retroactive awards are often issued in stages as each decision comes back. As awards are paid by the VA, clients generally remit one-third (⅓) of each award toward the minimum fee balance until that is satisfied. After the minimum is paid, additional fees are calculated if we help you win a large lump sum. We are transparent about this from the beginning because surprises create resentment and resentment destroys working relationships. We have long-term relationships with our clients and they mean a lot to us.

Medical evidence development takes time. Record review, physician consultations, literature analysis, drafting, revisions, and strategic refinement are labor-intensive processes occurring largely behind the scenes. That means there may be periods where substantial work is occurring that is not immediately visible externally.

We value clear communication and transparency, but we are not structured around or staffed for constant reassurance or daily status updates. We are totally focused on producing the highest possible quality of work.

We cannot guarantee outcomes from the VA. No honest company can.

What we can promise is this:

• We will not manufacture documents unsupported by the evidence, the law, or the science
• We will build the strongest evidence we possibly can 
• We will approach our work with expertise, professionalism, and integrity
